Overview

Each year the Gahanna-Jefferson Public School district offers a wide variety of summer courses for students—kindergarten through high school—as part of the 'Journey To Learning' program. There are programs for intervention/remediation, high school credit and make-up classes.

With the Stay Safe Ohio Order issued in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Journey to Learning program this summer will be offered through the distance learning structure we used to finish the academic year. The dates for the program have been moved to July 6-29 to provide students a break from remote learning and to better support students’ transition back to school in August.

Cross Categorical classroom is also available (grades K-5).

Reading is offered for grades K-8 and Math offered for grades 6-8

For high school students, the following new credit classes are offered: physical education, health, and speech. Make-up credit classes are also offered for English, math, social studies, and science.

All classes require minimum enrollment in order to be offered.

The federal food service program is not available during the summer months; however, many community-based organizations may provide similar services.

The deadline to enroll for all classes is Friday,  June 5.  No registrations will be accepted after the deadline.

Class Fees

Elementary and Middle School Classes (grades K - 8)
$130 per class

High School (Make-up and New Credit)
$245 per class

Please note: The district office must enroll the student in summer classes before the fee will appear in MPP. The student should be enrolled within five to seven days after the parent registers the student. Once the student is enrolled by the district office, you will receive either an automated phone confirmation or email. At that time, please go to your MPP account and pay your fee within seven days of receiving the confirmation.
