Jefferson ES - MLK Day of Service & Education

On Tuesday, Jan 22, 2013, Jefferson ES’ fourth-grade class — the Fab 4 — will spend the day learning, sharing and celebrating the vision of Martin Luther King Jr.

  Event Schedule

  • 8:15 – 9:15: Our Friend, Martin,” an educational video
  • 9:15 – 9:30: Students will listen to excerpts from King’s “I Have a Dream” speech
  • 9:30 – 9:45: Students will read and share from the book*:  Martin’s Big Words: The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.©
  • 9:45 – 10:15: Students will collaboratively develop various Wordle graphics (also known as visual text clouds) highlighting their own important “big” words.
The celebratory day of learning concludes with the Fab 4 students completing individual “I Have A Dream” creative writing exercises.

NOTE: In recognition of the Martin Luther King, Jr. federal holiday, all Gahanna-Jefferson schools and administrative offices are closed Monday, Jan. 21st.
