GJPS Board Names New Superintendent

GJPS Board of Ed. selects Francis Robert Scruci as next Superintendent

The
Board of Education of Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools is proud to announce that Francis R. Scruci will become the next Superintendent of Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools. The Board of Education voted to accept his contract at a special meeting on May 21, 2012.
He has served as the superintendent of the Wellington Exempted Village School District since 2008. Scruci has a master’s in educational administration from Ashland University, located in northern Ohio; a bachelor's in education from Slippery Rock University; as well as a bachelor's in business administration from Grove City College. The latter two are located in western Pennsylvania.
Scruci describes himself as a strong supportive leader who believes in collaboration and involving stakeholders to achieve the best results.
The Board of Education agreed to a three year contract which begins
August 1, 2012, and ends June 30, 2015. The package includes a salary of
$170,000.00; an annuity up to $20,000 is payable based on performance;
and a onetime relocation expense of up to $10,000.

Mr. and Mrs. Scruci plan to move into the Gahanna-Jefferson district shortly. "I am looking forward to working with the Board of Education, administration, staff, students, and community in continuing the fine tradition found in the Gahanna -Jefferson Schools," said Scruci.
The first day of the 2012-2013 school year is August 22, 2012.
