SPECIAL ACADEMIC OPTIONS AT GLHS

College Credit PlusCollege Credit Plus (CCP) is Ohio's dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time.  Students are able to take courses from Ohio colleges or universities, as well as select college-level courses offered at GLHS through Columbus State Community College, as part of the CCP program. The purpose of the CCP program is to expand students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no costs to students and families. Upon successful completion, students will earn transcripted college credit, as well as high school credit for courses taken.

Through partnerships with public colleges and universities, students are provided a large selection of general education and career-technical courses from which to choose.

Students are not limited to the courses or the institutions of higher education listed. The links below provide information regarding the College Credit Plus Program at GLHS. Please see Mr. Bates in the main office or your school counselor for more information regarding participation in this program.

**For any student wishing to take a Columbus State Community College (CSCC) CCP class during the summer or fall term of 2020, or an embedded CSCC at GLHS during a fall term of 2020, there is currently no English (ACCUPLACER) placement testing available.  In lieu of any English placement testing, students must have a cumulative 3.0 high school GPA or have already taken the ACT/SAT with qualifying scores to apply to CSCC and be eligible to take CCP courses.  Math placement testing (ALEKS) is still available through CougarWeb.  Please contact Jason Bates (batesja@gjps.org) if you wish to take a course that requires a math placement test score.

Students taking an embedded CCP class at GLHS (with a GLHS teacher) who have applied to CSCC and have a Cougar ID, have cumulative 3.0 GPA, and indicated the course request on his/her schedule will automatically be enrolled**
