In November of 2020, voters in the Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools district approved a 10.69 mills bond and operating levy to fund Phase Two of the GJPS Master Facilities Plan.
Additions and Renovations to High Point and Blacklick Elementary Space for an additional 225 students in each building. Additions and Renovations to Middle Schools East, South and West Space for an additional 175 students in each building. New Lincoln High School on Current Site Space for an additional 600+ students.
Operating Funds Filling the gap created by state cuts, increased technology costs and additional staffing due to enrollment growth.
The new Gahanna Lincoln High School will include:
Square Footage 510,000 Square Feet
Height 3 stories
Student Capacity 2,800+ students
Number of Classrooms 136 with room to expand
Distributive Dining Areas 3 throughout the building
Auditorium State of the art theatre with balcony
Media Center Spans 2 floors
Competition Gymnasium 2,500 seats
Projected Opening for Students Fall 2025

During the February 8, 2022, Special Board of Education Meeting, Assistant Superintendent Jill Elliott gave a detailed description of the recently revealed floor plan for the new Lincoln High School. The three-story plan includes a 31% increase in square footage compared to our current high school. With dedicated wings for performing arts, academics and physical education/athletics the floor plan also includes flexible extended learning areas and a few areas to grab a bite to eat.
After examining four design options, a site plan was approved by the GJPS Board of Education on February 8, 2022.
