The school guidance counselor at Blacklick Elementary is Mrs. Dawn Jenkins. She conducts classroom guidance lessons in addition to holding small group and individual counseling sessions as needed. The classroom guidance activities are based on the Skills for Life Course of Study adopted by the Gahanna-Jefferson Board of Education. Classroom activities include developing student skills in decision-making, social interactions, conflict resolution and communication.
Mrs. Jenkins assists teachers and other school personnel as they provide an environment that is conducive to learning. She also works with parents to promote home/school relationships, and to help understand their child’s progress in school.
Mrs. Jenkins serves Blacklick Elementary Monday-Friday.
