Reminder! All physicals must be completed and turned in by July 30th in order to practice with the team! Players MUST be signed up on FinalForms, also in order to practice on July 30th. Get all the "paperwork" out of the way early, so you aren't rushing to get it done at the last minute! nnOnly 2 weeks of summer left before football starts!!

Based on the weather forecast and the last minute availability of several of our coaches, we are going to cancel the combine event for today. Our plan is to reschedule the event for later this year close to the end of football season. My sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this causes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Well, Mother Nature is a fickle old woman! Based on the condition of our practice field after last nights rain and the current cold conditions, I am cancelling conditioning today. It looks like we will finally get some solid spring weather over the weekend and into next week, so I am hoping to get 2 solid conditioning sessions in next week. Thanks for your support and understanding...hopefully we will get Spring soon!!

Once again, the amazing Ohio spring weather has made an impact...with the huge amount of rain yesterday, the fields are soaked, so conditioning today, Monday, April 16th is cancelled. Hopefully it will dry up enough to get after it on Thursday!

The 2017 Football Awards Celebration is this Wednesday, October 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the GMSW Cafeteria. Be aware that we will not be serving food or drinks - We will be done no later than 7:30 so players and parents can get together afterwards for food/drink at a place of their choosing. Reminder about this week's schedule! We do practice on Monday, 10/09/17 at our regular time - 3:30-6:00. 8th grade game is on Tuesday, 10/10/17 AT Olentangy Shanahan at 5:15 p.m. 7th graders not dressing for the 8th grade game do not have practice on Tuesday. Our Week 7 game vs. GMSE will look different than our schedule shows. All players...7th and 8th...will dress on Thursday, October 5th for a home game against MSE's combined 7th and 8th grade team. All players will play - we will be adding a 5th quarter in the game to be sure that players who don't get a lot of game time get an opportunity for game experience. Some 7th grade players may not be in their normal numbers for the game - be sure you know what number your player is in! Let me know if

Reminder!! 7th grade has the day off so all coaches can travel with the 8th grade team to Walnut Springs. Video from last night's game is up on Hudl...players should watch the film and look for effort. If you are not giving 100u0025 effort on EVERY play, you are selling yourself and your team short. Football games are too short to take plays off...we need to have all 30 of our players, whether on the field or not, making every play count! That's how championship teams are built!

Just a reminder! Our games this week are both on Wednesday at Westerville North High School...7th grade plays first at 5:00 and 8th grade plays afterward, approximately 6:30. 7th graders will stay for the 8th grade game and then we will all come home together. If you need your 7th grader to leave early, let me know before taking them!

We have given the 7th graders the night off practice so we can travel to GMSS with our full coaching staff! They are welcome to attend the game, but we will not be transporting them on the bus...Except for the 7th graders who are dressing for the 8th grade game - They don't get the night off!

This Friday, September 8th is Middle School Football night at GLHS as they host Cincinnati Elder. Football players get into the game free if they wear their jerseys. Teams will be recognized between the first and second quarters of the game. This event is not required, and we will make jerseys available Friday after practice! Let me know if you have questions!

Amazing night for the blue & gold - 7th grade played a great game defeating Blendon. 8th grade was a different team tonight, playing with the heart and spirit of a lion. One of my proudest coaching moments, even in defeat.

Tonight's games are both at Westerville South HS. The 7th grade will start at 5:30 and the 8th grade will start 30 minutes after the 7th grade is done. Our 7th graders have expressed a strong interest in staying for the 8th grade game, so we will allow them to be on the sideline. Both teams will then return to Gahanna together after the 8th grade game. I will allow parents to take 7th graders home, but they must check with me personally before taking players. Thanks for understanding!

We are taking yearbook pictures (by HR Imaging) today after school. Players will be bringing order forms home if you choose to order. I have order forms for the team poster and individual shots done by Lauck's Photo Creations also. I should have the link to the individual shots sometime today! I will post the link as soon as I get it! Team posters are $25. I have three left on my desk that are ready to go, but you can order your own with the order form. We will make as many as needed!
