Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools is proud of all of our students and staff. It is through the hard work of everyone in our buildings each day that we, as a District, continue to make an impact both in GJPS and beyond. Below is just a snapshot of some of the accolades the students and staff that represent everyone at GJPS.
Excellence in the Classroom and Beyond
- A recent grad was named to an EdRising National Officer position
- Our GLHS DECA program had a fantastic showing at an international competition
- Elementary students had their artwork recognized at the Youth Art Month celebration
- One of our band students was named to the state honor band
- Four students were named National Merit Semifinalists
- Nine students were awarded the National African American Recognition Award
- One of our students was selected to serve on the Ohio Student Safety Advisory Council

- GLHS teacher Mark Lowrie named 2024 Ohio Teacher of the Year
- Middle School West teacher earned OAHPERD Middle School Teacher of the Year honor
- GLHS director of bands received Legion of Honor Award
- Middle school science teachers presented at the Science Education Council of Ohio
- Heart and Pride award winners are named seven months out the year
- Middle School South Principal Robin Murdock received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award for her efforts to support our service men and women who are also employed at Middle School South
- Superintendent Dr. Tracey Deagle was named a recipient of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation Ohio Superintendent Award of Excellence
- Director of Technology Matt Blackwell was named an Ohio School Boards Association Central Region Exemplary School Employee
