GJPS Maintains Four-Star Rating on Ohio State Report Card

Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools is proud to maintain our four-star rating in the most recent Ohio State Report Card announcement. This mark shows that our staff and students are continuing to exceed state standards.

While the District's overall star rating remained the same, there are many things to celebrate.

  • Increased to a full five-star rating in Gap Closing. This measures how well a district reduces the educational gap across a variety of student groups to ensure equal academic growth and opportunity for every learner.
  • Improved rating in College, Career, Workforce and Military Readiness (CCWMR). This reflects how well-prepared students are for future opportunities in postsecondary education, technical training, career pathways and military service.
  • Maintained four stars in:
    • Achievement
    • Progress
    • Graduation
  • Maintained three stars in Early Literacy.

In many of these areas, the data improved, but did not meet the benchmark to increase the star rating.

“While the results of the Ohio State Report Card do not capture everything we do and accomplish as a school district, they do allow us to see how we are comparing to state standards and other districts around the state,” Superintendent Dr. Tracey R. Deagle said. “I could not be more proud of the success of our students and the commitment of our staff. Our continued growth these past several years is a testament to our belief in the power of public education and strong family partnerships.”

The District’s four-star rating shows that we are exceeding state standards, but we are not resting. The metrics continue to show GJPS’ efforts are paying off in the Rise to Five initiative.
