New GLHS Athletic Director

We are excited and proud to announce Matthew Welsh as the new Gahanna Lincoln High School Athletic Director!

Welsh most recently served at Thomas Worthington High School as the Assistant Athletic Director and prior to that was the Athletic Director at Madison-Plains Local Schools. 

In addition to his professional experience, Welsh is an active member of the athletic administrator community, serving on the executive boards of both the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (OIAAA) and the Central Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (COIAAA). His dedication to his profession is further evidenced by his achievement of the Certified Master Athletic Administrator designation from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) earlier this year.

Welsh holds dual master's degrees, one in Athletic Administration from Ohio University and another in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University. His undergraduate degree is in Athletic Training and Physical Education from Kent State University. These qualifications underscore his expertise and commitment to excellence in athletic leadership and management.

Welsh is married to his wife, Nikki, and they are proud parents of two daughters. Kennedy, their eldest, is currently attending Ohio University, while Abbie is pursuing her studies at Clemson University.
