Spread the Word Day

A large group of Gahanna Lincoln High School students wearing matching “Celebrate Minds of All Kinds” shirts pose together on outdoor bleachers during a school inclusion event.

At Gahanna Lincoln High School, students recently came together to celebrate kindness and the unique strengths that make every person different during the District’s annual Spread the Word celebration.

The outdoor event invited students of all abilities to connect through friendship and shared experiences. After signing a pledge to be respectful and compassionate, students participated in activities designed to build understanding and empathy, including wheelchair races, sit volleyball and blind soccer.

This year’s theme, “Celebrate Minds of All Kinds,” highlighted the importance of recognizing and appreciating the different abilities, experiences and perspectives that each student brings to the school community. The event encouraged students to better understand one another while creating meaningful opportunities for connection and collaboration.

Spread the Word has been a tradition at GJPS since 2010, with a new theme introduced each year to promote inclusion and acceptance. Over the years, the initiative has continued to grow into a celebration that students and staff look forward to each spring.
