Special Programs at GJPS

The Special Programs department provides trained expertise to meet students' unique learning needs. Students in Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools benefit from the wealth of experience offered through the District’s English Learner Specialists and Gifted Intervention Specialists, and they have access to enrichment programs such as our Chinese Language programs.

English Learners

English Learners (EL) is a program designed to help ensure that children who are limited English proficient are provided the necessary support to develop both language and core curriculum subjects. The primary goal of the EL program is to prepare students to successfully transition into regular classes and assist them in meeting state academic achievement standards.
